How it works

ImgScale upscales with a Real-ESRGAN super-resolution neural network on our GPU server. Your image is uploaded, enhanced at full quality, and the result is sent back — so you get consistent, high-quality results on any device, including phones. Images are processed on the fly and not stored.

Your image is sent to our GPU server only for the upscaling step — processed on the fly and never stored. Drop several files at once to batch-process and download them together as a ZIP.

How to upscale an image

  1. Upload or paste. Drag in one or more images, click to browse, or paste from your clipboard.
  2. Choose scale. Pick 2× or 4× — the tool estimates the time and output size before you start.
  3. Compare & download. Use the before/after slider to inspect the result, then save it or export a batch as a ZIP.

What AI upscaling is good for

Upscaling rebuilds detail that simple resizing cannot. It helps with small or old photos you want to print, low-resolution product shots, game screenshots and pixel art, profile pictures that look soft when enlarged, and AI-generated images you want at a higher resolution. Because ImgScale uses a Real-ESRGAN super-resolution model rather than plain interpolation, edges stay sharp and textures are reconstructed instead of blurred.

2× vs 4× — which should I pick?

2× doubles each side (4× the pixels) and is ideal when the source is already decent and you just need more resolution. 4× quadruples each side (16× the pixels) and suits very small or heavily compressed images, at the cost of longer processing. If you are unsure, try 2× first — it is faster and often enough. Very large outputs take more time because there is far more pixel data to generate.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free? Yes — no account, no watermark, no limit.

Which formats work? JPG, PNG, and WEBP.

Can I upscale several at once? Yes, drop a batch and download them together as a ZIP.

Will it fix a very blurry photo? It improves sharpness and detail significantly, though extremely degraded images have limits.
